July 14, 2025 2 min read

The Wattbike Inter-School Challenge 2025, held at HKBU Affiliated School Wong Kam Fai Secondary & Primary School, brought together 200 students aged 12–17 from schools across Hong Kong for a full day of action-packed, high-energy in an e-cycling competition.

Organised by our distributor Ecolifestyle, this flagship event continues to redefine what’s possible in school sport, combining elite-level technology with the energy of student athletes in a very unique format, racing multiple distances.

A Full Day of Racing

From the opening ceremony to the final race, the event delivered non-stop excitement. Students took part in a series of individual races, team relays, and a fan-favourite the Teacher-Student Relay, encouraging teamwork and camaraderie. With dedicated warm-up sessions, structure, and award ceremony, the event highlighted how sport can be both competitive and community-building.

Technology That Connects and Motivates

Powered by the Wattbike AtomX, with advanced performance tracking and real-time data displays, participants could see their race positions live on a shared screen. Boosting motivation, deepening engagement, and delivering a truly immersive racing experience.

This seamless tech integration allowed students to compete safely indoors, an ideal solution in a city where cycling outdoors for commuting or sport can be challenging. The instant feedback and visible results not only enhanced performance on the day but also sparked excitement among students - opening the door for more young people to discover the benefits of indoor cycling.

A Platform for Growth and Wellness

More than just a competition, Ecolifestyle's Inter-School Challenge is part of an ongoing mission to support health and fitness in the education system across Asia.

By empowering schools with smart training tools and an event-ready platform, it's helping educators embed physical activity into everyday student life and inspiring the next generation of athletes in the process.

Looking Ahead

With another successful year in the books, the momentum is undeniable. As more schools join the movement, and more students get a chance to try e-cycling for the first time, we’re seeing a clear shift in how sport is delivered in education.

The Wattbike Inter-School Challenge isn't just growing - it’s setting a new benchmark for what school competitions can look like: inclusive, engaging, and unforgettable.
