The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs just opened their new, 60,000 sq.ft William J. Hybl Sports Medicine and Sports Performance Centre on the University campus. The site has been named after Colorado graduate and President Emeritus of the United States Olympic Committee, William J Hybl.

This state-of-the-art facility offers an altitude training chamber, an environmental training chamber (enabling training that can be done in cold and hot temperatures), sports medicine services, and a full exercise research lab. The centre is geared towards helping individuals prevent injuries and preparing them to perform at the best of their ability; both physically and mentally.

The sports performance centre also offers a variety of assessments; including endurance tests for cyclists and runners, tactical tests to prepare for basic training, strength and power tests, injury risk assessments, and metabolic testing.

In the performance area, athletes, students and the general public can now access nine Wattbike AtomX’s, one Wattbike Nucleus, and two Wattbike Pro/Trainers.

The AtomX’s are going to be used for group cycling and in the altitude and environmental chambers, whilst the Pro/Trainers and Nucleus will be featured on the gym floor.

Wattbike are incredibly proud to be a part of this cutting-edge sports performance facility at Colorado Springs, and we can’t wait to see how their athletes and students get on with the best indoor trainers available.
